The way of the world? Really?

My mind feels like its going a million miles an hour, seems a lot going on at the moment and the Stress is definitely taller than Mt Everest- unevenly balanced by doubt and frustration ... well so it feels... try stopping that from falling on you!

Its difficult to let your emotions not show, its difficult not to judge when someone has effected you directly and all you want to do is hurt them back, Thank God for the power of Self Control... I've truly come to realise how fallen this world is, how fragile people really are and weak minded Man can be. I feel that we need a shake up a wake up call; I read a horrific article in the paper yesterday about a young man who was beaten:

Daniel Stringer-Prince

Apologies for the graphic image but to get my point across... now we don't know what really happened in this situation but WTFudge... what drives a man/men to do this to another Human? what's the motive? what's the justification?...The devil is thriving in this world because Man has decided to fight against each other rather than help each other... we say, 'Well its man instinct to flight each other' or we say, ' Its the way of the world', but why should it be this way? The devil is thriving because we aren't uniting! it doesn't matter about the colour of your skin or what language you speak, we all come from the same source!! we all come from the same background and all have the same father! In James 2, James speaks about favouritism and how its forbidden;

James said: ' 1 My brothers and sisters, believer in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favouritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, " Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or " Sit on the floor by my feet," 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?" James 2: 1-4

Jesus taught us:
Luke 6:37: "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
Luke 6:27: "But to you who are listen I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you...32 "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

Romans 13:10: "Love does no harm to a neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of the Law."

I could reel off loads more quotes from the new testament bible that Justifies the need to Love and not Harm but to be honest what good is that? who is going to take these and act on them? is it even possible to do so in this world? or can we adopt the word and convert it into everyday now?

Freewill is a great gift if used correctly- Freewill through Gods grace was given so we can make the right choices in life; its only when we abuse this gift that things go wrong; take the article above for instance; we don't know the circumstances of why this man was attacked but if he had decided instead of going to the local kebab house to eat junk food and instead went to Tesco to buy a proper meal the situation would have been avoided; also on the other hand if the gang of men decided that instead of terrorising the locals they passed their time by helping in the local nursing home then the world would be a better place... "Sin" (use the world lightly due to the stigma attached to it) creeps up on us all- and it comes in the slightest of forms- we just need to assess the situation, remember what Jesus taught us to Do to others as you would have them do to you...also look at this as if you know that chocolate bar your about to buy with money you don't really have, is going to make you feel depressed later on that night when you look in the mirror and think I look disgusting, I'm fat etc!... we have all been there.

I suppose this is a fallen world and I suppose the attitude is, well what can we do about it now,its too far along the road to even attempt... if everyone thinks like this then that is what will happen, you imagine if everyone decided right! that's it no more pain, no more gluttony, no more deceit, no more adultery- WOW what a place this would be. And instead of the devil being victorious on this Earth we will and God will have his glory through us! It a tough world - being realistic this isn't going to happen- but if we can do this in our own little bubbles then we may be able to at least save one life or help at least one person, who will help another person and another... you get the gist...

Comments would be appreciated :-) God Bless

Please note that all comments made above are my own thoughts and feelings, God Bless

Feeling Freedom? Does it Exist?

Feeling Freedom? Does it Exist?

Freedom..The condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints.

In the U.K. most of us see ourselves as free, able to do what we like, when we like, and how we like! So why is it that we find ourselves constantly struggling with daily life and health? Is it because the freedom allows corruption to filter through our lives? money? fast food? Women or Men...? maybe not in some cases depending on how you feel about it but is there not that feeling of being trapped by an addiction? or by our greed, blinding us from the real world? The gap that just never fills! Is that freedom?

Isn't Freedom a gift? I'm fortunate to have the life I do. As I write this I sit at my desk with a nice cup of tea, heating on, A bit of music playing in the background, I'm not saying I haven't had the tough times, hey who hasn't... but I'm free... Right?

I've learnt a lot in the past three years, I became a Christian on the 22nd December 2008 (approx) I didn't realise what had hit me until I finally opened my eyes and saw what I'd become! I thought I was free, young lad, the world at his feet, I didn't care who I would hurt, just wanted a good time all the time! I didn't realise what a mess I was getting myself into! But I was Free!..Right?

Isn't freedom abused though? Don't we see it in the Western world on a daily basis? an example I would use would be the recent riots in London..pardon me protests in London...Is that an abuse of freedom? The way I see it, freedom produces a void within us which needs to be filled, a lot of us fill the void with the bad fruit of this world.

Fortunately the gap was filled for me, bought and paid for by Jesus. God has shown me fantastic grace for things I just couldn't forgive myself for! But because God did what he did for me I truly see the Love he has for me.  God "sacrificed" his only Son so that I can be forgiven for my Sins. (Bible Ref: John 3:16)

If you need to see it to believe it, watch a powerful DVD called 'The Passion of The Christ' (some viewers may find this graphic and emotional)

I know what your going to say, So I could commit Murder and God will forgive me just like that?

God gave us free choice;  Freedom to choose what we want to do in life, were we want to go, what we want to accomplish!( if he made us all the same then that would be defeating the object of creation and everyone would be robots!) If I want to Worship God, I can, If I want to Play the guitar I can, If I want to shout I LOVE JESUS I can! But on the downside to this amazing but necessary freedom, I could Murder, I could Steal, I could commit adultery... but if you had such power and love filling the Void with God in your life, then why would you need to?  you wouldn't need the quick fix, the rush of adrenaline or that last line before you move onto the next pub...

God will forgive you for what ever you have done...He wants you home, not left in the dark! And its free, no hidden extras or charges, no monthly subscription, no terms and/or conditions!

A day in the life of the Holy Spirit...

Wow! The Holy Spirit is amazing!

Through Gods beautiful grace, The Holy Spirit is sent to fill us with God, to move our lives, to correspond with Gods will. The Holy Spirit introduces us to God on a physical level and personal level and through The Holy Spirit, God equips us to be a vessel for His power to save, heal and show the truth of The Lord Jesus Christ.

I never believed in the Holy Spirit when I was an atheist. How could I, I mean lets look at it from an Atheists point of view; A spirit, unseen by the eye, influences our bodies in order to do things for God... sounds crazy! But the most amazing thing about the Holy Spirit is God knows what we are aware of, God knows what we are prepared for and will use the Holy Spirit anyway, no matter what you think or feel about him, God knows when your ready even if you think your not. He knows the exact moment...

Ok, so picture this, your in your cell group in your living room and this happens:

'2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.' Acts 2:2-4

How freaked out would you be! there you are, cup of tea cooling beautifully next to your bible on the side table and bam! What must of they be thinking! lets break it down:

Acts 2:2: So a great sound of the Holy Spirit descends from Heaven and God lets everyone know hes entered the Building! God didn't knock on the door and say can I come in, God wasn't waiting for a afternoon tea invite, he wanted them to see his glory and power. I think the significant's of  the violent wind is that God had to show the disciples He meant business, throughout the Bible, even when Jesus was 'alive' they doubted the power of God, and example being Jesus walking on water...

18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[b] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. John 6 18-21

I suppose like us all, if it hasn't happened to us, we dismiss the idea even if its so obviously the truth! We as Humans need to be effected in some sort of way to be able to feel the effect; For example, I've never been hit by a bus, drastic analogy... I'm pretty sure its painful and life changing but I've never felt that pain, compare that to someone who has been hit by a bus they will tell me, get a grip man of course it hurt! The Holy Spirit has the ability to change our perception of God in literally a blink of an eye! This is God intention, not to scare or push Jesus away but invite us on an intimate level. The acknowledgement that the violent wind came from Heaven is God showing us that when the Holy Spirit descends, It descends from Heaven, Gods throne thus from God. I love the idea that the disciples where sitting down, understanding that this was common practice back then, to imagine this in today's world it brings us back to reality that fellowship hasn't changed much in the past 2000 years.

Acts 2:3: I love the idea the The Holy Spirit seemed to look like tongues of fire! I would be pretty sure that if a flaming tongue was hurtling at me sounding like a  violent wind I would remember it! but isn't that amazing, the Holy Spirit, not only sounded like a violent wind but we now see the roaring image of a burning fire ember figuring into a tongue like shape and resting on them. The light of the world is inevitably the Sun, the Sun is a great ball of fire and Jesus said 'I am the light of the world'. Jesus entered these men through the Holy Spirit, God is the Son, God is the Father and God is the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:4: The ultimate statement: ALL OF THEM WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Just like Gods breathe fills our lungs everyday in the form of Air, The Holy Spirit fills our heart, mind, body and entwines with our Soul creating a fully God filled Human. Wow! We now know what they were feeling! How amazing is that, God loves us that much that he wants to be involved in our lives and equip us with his power. The brilliant part of this also is that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, not just one of them, they were all equal in the sight of God. Finally, through the Holy Spirit God equipped the disciples with a way of communicating with every nation. Through those twelve men, God used their vocal cords to communicate a message in every language to everyone. Putting that into context, through God doing that one miracle, we are able to read this Bible today, the disciples translated the message of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice through the Grace of God and his beautiful love for us.

I could of wrote so much more... let me know what you think because this is a really amazing miracle!

God Bless

Gods Voice, are you being called?

I think sometimes its difficult to listen to Gods voice when the worlds screaming around you.

For the purpose of this post, if you can just close your eyes for 15 seconds and listen to your breathing pattern... isnt it peaceful to listen to your own breathing, its like the world fades just for that little bit and you find peace. Its amazing to think that the first thing God did once creating us from dust is Breathe life into us.

So looking at it in the context that God breathed life into us, doesn't that mean that the air we breath is Gods own breath?

I love the idea that God is the one keep us physically alive through air.

Isn't it strange that we rely on air yet we cant see it? We put our trust in a substance that we cant see yet we rely on it to keep us alive! Still we cant deal with the idea of a 'God' watching over us and protecting us.

I love the Atheists faith! They have great believe that God doesn't exist! its a good thing God believes in them bearing in mind that God breathes life into them everyday.

I think we expect Gods voice to be a great, deep, bellowing voice that knocks us over! but what about this concept; going with the idea of air which is silent; why can't Gods voice be a feeling? or a tap on the shoulder when we are about to fall from grace? What about Gods voice being that gut feeling when you know something just isn't quite right or is a brilliant idea? What if God doesn't need to talk because he's imprinted his own spirit to work alongside ours to allow us to see right and wrong and stay on his path? Have you ever had that?

I'm quite stubborn, I know God is nudging me to work in Youth Minestry but Im just not allowing myself to participate. Gods voice for me is the following: I get given a very expensive guitar to practice with because my good friend has felt I should start playing, I've been provided great friends who are very musical and want me to join them in worship, I've been prompted to start Youth Ministry. Now bear in mind that I've not asked to do any sort of ministry or leading, I think Gods talking to me there... but isn't it just that, shouldn't I just go for it, I mean what have I got to lose, ITS GOD'S VOICE!?

The problem is, we seem to have this nagging feeling which isn't of God, the feeling of rejection and failure the feeling of humiliation, I mean who wants to fail...?

The thing to remember with God is, no ones a failure, God wouldn't put you through things which you cant handle, God has your back and even if you did get things wrong God will forgive you! Just be truthful to God and he will reward you, God is your Father in Heaven who wants you to succeed in life! But all you have to do is just listen to him.

As the famous songs goes, ' God didn't mess up when he made you, Hes a Father who loves to parade you!' Delirious- Our God Reigns

Try and take 15 minutes out of your day and just simply wait on God to speak to you.

God Bless!
